DevLog 01 - First Batch of Textures

Got some textures here from the first batches of art I'm designing for my first official game.

Since the "Raycasting Game Maker" (my engine for this project) can only create first-person shooters, I'm attempting to make a crazy and absurdist game with unusual enemies, weapons, and level design. I had to reign-in how varied the levels would look, so everything will be taking place in a sprawling hedge-maze garden, but each level takes place in a different part of the garden where new textures and decoration are added in.

Here I have a few of my hedge textures, a barn exterior, and below that are some Roman garden ruins.

Every texture for this engine has to be 64 X 64 pixels, but there are available slots for almost 300 textures, that's including enemy and weapon animations. At the moment, I only have about 34 textures prepared so far. I'll also be incorporating some enemy animations and sprites from royalty free asset packs (modifications will be made to better blend them with my original art). So, I have my work cut out for me.

My hope is to have the game ready by the end of the month, but we'll have to see how things go.

Hey! I really like your style)) Why do you use RGM? There is a great analogue from my friend, look, it's much more functional than RGM. But at the same time, it is similarly light. Try.

Thanks very much. =)
I have taken a peak at Easy FPS Editor and I love the improvements it's made on what RGM was trying to do. But, the reason I'm using RGM is because I created a comprehensive guide on how to use RGM and how to work around all of its quirks and odd glitches (on my Itch page). Back when I started the guide, I don't think EFPSE had been released yet, and I only heard it released after my tutorial guide was completed. lol

So because of that, I've committed myself to making my first game in RGM simply because I now know the program backwards and forwards and can try to push its limits.

Sounds cool! Good luck to you, I think you will succeed!
