Welcome everybody to FilmGamerJ. I typically go by FilmmakerJ, but I figured an altered moniker made sense for my gaming profiles.
To make a long story short, I'm a non-binary artist with pan-dimensional ideas, a deep love for Cinema and Animation history, and a passion for video-games, especially 3D platformers and RPGs. I've explored the world of game-dev a little here and there to try and get a handle on the engine options and coding languages. I explored the waters of The Raycasting Game Maker, and even wrote a whole guide for it. But now I've firmly set my path in the direction of Godot, as it has everything I'm looking for, including a friendly and uncluttered UI.
I've got a bunch of little 2D and 3D ideas: extra dimensional horror, point-and-click adventure titles, a Kings Field styled RPG, maybe a visual novel or 2; things like that.
For now, I'm starting up a side gig as a PNGtuber to explore the works of other indie devs, and then working on my drawing and pixel art skills.
The Itch community is beyond awesome! Can't wait to meet more of y'all.
Recently, I've launched a brand new series on my Youtube Channel all about exploring quirky, colorful, and creative games using a new VTuber model I designed.
I'm trying to have at least 1 or 2 videos posted every week. So if you wanna check out what I'm playing over there, you can check out 4 of my favorite videos below:
